$1500 Federal Tax Credit - Phoenix Green Homes
$1,500 Tax Credit for Energy Efficiency
Until December 31, 2010, the Federal government will provide qualifying participants a tax credit up to 30% of the cost of energy efficiency improvements, not to exceed $1,500.
To be eligible, the improved property must be an existing home and the participant's primary residence.
Eligible upgrades include:
- Biomass Stoves that a thermal efficiency rating of at leasat 75% as measured using a lower heating value. Credit includes installation costs.
- Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC) to include:
- Advanced main air circulating fans
- Air source heat pumps
- Central air conditioning
- Gas, propane, or oil hot water boilers
- Natural gas or propane furnaces
- Oil furnaces
- Insulation including batts, rolls, blow-in fibers, rigid boards, expanding spray, and pour-in-place insulation. Furthermore, products that reduce air leaks will qualify such as weather stripping, spray foam sealer, air sealing caulking, and house wraps. The tax credit does not include the cost of installation.
- Roofs that meet qualifying guidelines designed to reflect more of the sun's rays, which can lower the surface temperature by up to 100F. Credit does not include installation costs.
- Non-Solar Water Heaters that include oil, gas, propane, and electric heat pump water heaters. Credit does include the cost of installation.
- Windows, Doors, and Skylights that have a U-Factor of 0.30 or less. Credit does not include installation costs.
