Energy Star homes in Phoenix are designed and built to be more energy efficient than typical built homes. The home builders construct these homes using advanced construction techniques that reduce air and duct leakage, increase the insulation, and require efficient mechanical systems, such as the air conditioner for example.
Energy Star homes are tested and verified to use 15 to 30 percent LESS energy than other homes. Approximately 40 percent of all new construction in the Phoenix area is built to Energy Star standards.
